About
Rob Withers has been at the Miami University Libraries as Assistant to the Dean & University Librarian and Electronic Information Services Librarian for more than 10 years. He earned his M.A. from the University of North Carolina and M.L.S from North Carolina Central University. In addition to being co-webmaster for the Libraries' web site, his duties include development of online learning resources, and teaching Information Studies in the Digital Age (IMS 201), a semester-long course on locating, synthesizing and creating information in digital formats.
He has co-authored articles in publications including College and Research Libraries News, College and Undergraduate Libraries, the Electronic Journal of Academic and Special Librarianship, and Library Cataloging, Acquisitions and Technical Services, presented at conferences including Computers in Libraries, Educause Midwest, HighEdWebDev, LOEX, and NASIG, and co-authored several book chapters.
Rob has served on numerous committees of the American Library Association in several divisions (ACRL, ALCTS, LAMA, RUSA). In 2003 received the Academic Library Association of Ohio's Jay Ladd Distinguished Service Award for creating a web-based membership database and is currently Vice President/President Elect of the Academic Library Association of Ohio.
